Veteran Oasis

Our Goal:
To be the beacon of support and unity for veterans and their families in the Dayton area. Through innovative entertainment, unwavering camaraderie, and essential services in a sober environment. We envision a community where every veteran thrives, finds purpose, and never feels alone.

Entertainment:

We have built a database of more than 400 unique sober entertainment concepts with variety for all ages, most of which are family friendly. We plan to use our events to fund veteran services that could require payment. We also want our entertainment to build friendships and help veterans feel comfortable enough to ask us for help when in need. We will have open house nights to allow everyone to come in and enjoy our events on a larger scale. Examples of events include: men’s nights, women's nights, date nights, family events, community events, local talent nights, outside events, seasonal events, tournaments, game nights, boxing/MMA nights, Jackbox style large scale party games, board game nights, classes and Veteran Oasis original events.

Community:

We want our veterans and their families to feel like part of the community. A sense of community is something we as veterans miss about being in the military. Our Vision of community building is both bringing veterans together and bringing the community to the veterans. Our plan is to invite local businesses and entertainers into our space (when we have one) for special events like pottery nights, art classes, comedy nights, hosting plays and musicians. We will do ongoing events to help the community and strengthen our bond with the surrounding counties of Dayton. We also have a network of volunteers available for our community events.

Veteran Services:

We've been cultivating a network of relationships with owners an managers of local nonprofits, veteran organizatioins, and businesses that provide free services to veterans and their families. We are able to get care in most cases as soon as the next day. We develope one on relationships with the owners, managers and relationship managers of national, regional, and local resources, most of which are not federally funded. We realized that there are Veteran Services available that the local veteran community doesn’t know exists. We strive to support upcoming nonprofits, businesses and charities by testing their services and recommending them if they deserve it. We have researched and compiled a plethora of resources for nearly ever possible need. Our current partnerships can support: Mental health counseling, religious counseling, PTSD specific recovery, caregiver support, pill reminders, grocery shopping, transportation, cleaning, organizing , moving assistance, homelessness and near homelessness assistance, private math classes, food pantries without income verification and, most uniquely, companionship. Combating loneliness and isolation is key to preventing suicides in the veteran population.
